BREAKING – Ralf Rangnick could be sacked soon after ‘massively concerning’ report – pundit
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Sunderland striker suggested the 63-year-old may face the same fate as Jose Mourinho, who was fired in 2018.
According to ESPN (11 February), senior players are “growing disgruntled” with Rangnick’s coaching techniques, with several players believing his training sessions are “outdated.”
According to the article, assistant boss Chris Armas is in charge of the majority of the sessions.
Phillips said he “wouldn’t be astonished” if Rangnick was removed from his duties before the season’s finish.
“At the end of the day, it’s Man United,” he told Football Insider’s, Dylan Childs.
“They establish standards and have done so for many years.” If you fail to match such expectations, people have paid the price in the past.
Man United’s players are frustrated with Ralf Rangnick’s squad selection methods, with some believing his training sessions are “old fashioned”.
Players have also jokingly likened assistant Chris Armas to fictional football coach Ted Lasso, sources have told ESPN. pic.twitter.com/EArcFwJKK7

“I wouldn’t be surprised if Rangnick left. We heard something similar when Mourinho was there with the players, who were criticizing the training techniques, and it didn’t last long.
“Once we start hearing rumors and something like that, it’s a huge concern.” And you can see that in the performances and body language of the players on the field.
“It’s a concern, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t finish the season and was quickly fired.”
Man United were pushed back after taking the lead for the third time in a row against Southampton at home on Saturday (12 February).
Rangnick is under contract until the conclusion of the season, after which he will become a consultant for the club.
