Manchester United are dealing with an injury issue in addition to the suspension of Brazilian sensation Casemiro as they prepare for Leeds United’s first game without manager Jesse Marsch, who was fired on Monday afternoon.

The Red Devils are presently treating five injured players ahead of their Wednesday night match against the Whites, with forwards Antony and Anthony Martial and midfielder Scott McTominay expected to miss out.

“They [McTominay and Martial] are not playing tomorrow,” Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag announced at a pre-match press conference. “The same with Antony, he’s not available tomorrow, so we’ll have to figure something out.”

Danish international Christian Eriksen is also out after suffering an ankle injury in recent weeks, and Donny van de Beek is out for the season.

Casemiro was sent out after a lengthy VAR review in their weekend meeting with Crystal Palace after he grabbed Will Hughes by the throat and will face a three-match ban, which United will not appeal.

With those players being out, some familiar names may return to the starting lineup alongside some new ones. Ten Hag might substitute Jadon Sancho for Antony, despite the fact that the England star hasn’t started a match since late October.

Due to Case miro’s suspension and Eriksen’s injury, Marcel Sabitzer might make his debut in a Manchester United shirt, while Wout Weghorst is expected to remain upfront in the absence of Martial.

Manchester United’s predicted starting XI (4-2-3-1) is as follows: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Martinez, Shaw; Fred, Sabitzer; Sancho, Fernandes, Rashford; Weghorst.
