Unless circumstances change before the summer, he will only be in command of the team for six months before becoming the club’s consultant for two years.

However, he is likely to receive some funds in the summer and might increase them by selling up to six players, including Anthony Martial.

According to reports, the Frenchman is set to depart Old Trafford, and now another player wants to follow in his footsteps.

Andreas Pereira has been on loan at Flamengo this season, and the Brazilian midfielder has stated that he intends to stay at the club after his loan period ends.

“I’ve always wanted to stay here at Flamengo,” the 25-year-old told ESPN. “And now we’re going to do everything we can.”

“We’ll discuss it with President Landim and Marcos Braz to see what we can do.”

Flamengo supporters may be unsure if they want the loanee to stay at the club after his error cost them the Copa Libertadores final.

Flamengo faced Palmeiras in only the fourth all-Brazilian final in the competition’s history, and after Gabriel Barbosa’s second-half equalizer, Flamengo forced extra-time against the defending champions.

Pereira attempted a back pass to his goalie with just five minutes remaining in the additional 30 minutes, but his touch was off, allowing Deyverson to sprint away unimpeded and win the competition for the second time.

“It was a fantastic day for me, emotional,” the midfielder said of his desire to return to the team. After what happened, the nation hugged me, and I will be eternally thankful.

“Of course, I have a feeling I owe a title to the fans.” As I assured them, you can count on me; I’ll do all in my power to ensure that those titles are available next year.”

“Anthony desires to leave the club in January,” Martial’s agent Philippe Lamboley told Sky Sports, confirming his client’s desire to go.

“All he has to do now is play.” He has stated that he would not be staying in January, and I will speak with the club as soon as possible.”
