The German tactician’s future at Stamford Bridge may be jeopardized as a result of sanctions imposed on club owner Roman Abramovich, which prevent the Blues from buying or selling players, offering new contracts to players, or even allowing supporters to buy tickets for games.

Earlier this week, Jamie Carragher said in his Telegraph column that Manchester United could pounce for Tuchel, and it appears that something is in the works.

According to the Daily Mail, United interim manager Ralf Rangnick feels Tuchel is a real candidate and praises the former Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain manager.

“It makes no sense to even ponder or speculate about that,” he remarked.

“Yes, Thomas Tuchel is a top manager, yes I know him well, yes he was a player of mine, yes he started his coaching career in Stuttgart when I was the head coach.”

“Right now, he is the manager of Chelsea.” They are third in the standings and remain in the Champions League.

“There are concerns presently around the ownership of this club, so speculating about him being a candidate for the job here in the summer makes no sense.”

Tuchel has had tremendous success at Chelsea, winning the Champions League with the Blues last season, and the Red Devils would undoubtedly welcome him to Old Trafford.

Other candidates mentioned by the Mail include Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag, but Tuchel may be a stronger prospect.
