Continuing his sensational goal-scoring form, the 26-year-old added another strike to his tally in Georgia, reaching a total of seven for the campaign.

This achievement leveled the record set by John McGinn and Steven Fletcher for the most goals in a qualifying round.

McTominay’s goal, making it 1-1 after Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s opener at the Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena, helped Scotland secure a late away point.

Despite Kvaratskhelia scoring again to make it two, Lawrence Shankland’s stoppage-time goal ended the Tartan Army’s three-game losing streak.

However, McTominay did not mince words in his post-match interview, expressing his anger towards the Georgia players for what he deemed as attempts to run down the clock and their constant pleas to the referee.

Describing their actions as a “disgrace,” he called for addressing the issue of players feigning injuries and criticized the opponents for excessive theatrics, stating, “rolling around and crying like babies all afternoon is not football.”

According to McTominay, while Scotland aimed to focus on their game, the opposing team engaged in provoking the referee throughout the match.
