GOOD NEWS: Junior Nsemba’s’ statement’ in relation to the massive new Wigan Warriors contract…

Nsemba has starred in the back-row for Wigan this season, announcing himself as not only one of the best pack prospects in Super League but in world rugby league. At the age of 20 he has already scored nine tries in 42 appearances and of those tries, eight have come this season with the forward proving too big and powerful for defensive lines to handle.

He deservedly claimed a place in the Super League Dream Team earlier this week and he has been included in Shaun Wane’s England squad to take on Samoa this autumn, too. Nsemba’s trophy cabinet already includes a Challenge Cup and two League Leaders’ Shield winners medals but he has the chance to add a Grand Final win this year with Wigan just 80 minutes away from Old Trafford.

“First of all I’d like to thank Distinct Rugby for making this happen,” Nsemba told the club website after penning the long-term deal. “I’d also like to thank my parents for guiding me in the right direction. Signing this contract is amazing and being able to play in front of the Wigan fans and for my hometown club for another six years is incredible.

“This year was just the start and I can’t wait to see what the next years bring.”

Matt Peet said: “It’s a great statement from the club and by Junior. His potential on and off the field is there for everyone to see. We have a responsibility to guide his development and ensure that he achieves everything that he is capable of.
