Wigan forward Nsemba signs six-year contract
Wigan Warriors forward Junior Nsemba has signed a new contract to remain with the club for a further six years.
The 20-year-old broke through into the Wigan first team in 2023, making 15 appearances as they won last season’s Super League Grand Final.
Nsema has committed his future to the Cherry and Whites off the back of a remarkable campaign that has seen them win the World Club Challenge, Challenge Cup and this season’s League Leaders’ Shield while he was also named in the 2024 Super League Dream Team.
“Playing with them every week, my team-mates feel like my brothers,” Nsemba told BBC Sport.
“I trust them on and off the pitch, I hang around with them, you have team-mates but you can have friends – and outside of rugby I’m friends with all the boys.”
It has been a stellar season for the second-rower, as he helped Wigan to the Challenge Cup final by scoring in the 38-6 demolition of Hull KR in the semi-final and also played in the Wembley showpiece as they beat Sam Burgess’ Warrington.
