Indica Campbell will be on first at the Barclaycard Arena on Friday, April 17
Ali Campbell’s daughter Indica Campbell will be the support act for her father’s UB40 band, which comes to Barclaycard Arena on Friday.
She’s very keen to do things off her own back without relying on her father’s influence, but even she couldn’t turn down a hometown support slot in front of the arena audience.
She’s 21, fluent in Spanish and a fantastic painter. She’s currently recording her debut album.
Like Ali, she performs quite a few covers alongside her original tracks. She takes pride in being a little more organic than the acts in the chart right now.
She has recorded her first EP too. In a recent interview, she said: “I found the process of recording went really well.
“We have over 14 songs for the album already, but we wanted to release the EP first.”
Growing up with a touring father was relatively straightforward, which you might not expect.
“It was completely normal, everyone thinks you have this mad crazy lifestyle, but
it’s not like that at all.
“I got to do so much travelling, but I don’t remember much about it as I was so young. It’s something I want to experience myself now.”
