Swindon Town FC Unveils $90 Million Stadium Renovation Plan
Swindon Town FC has announced an ambitious plan to renovate and expand its County Ground stadium, with a staggering investment of $90 million. The project, set to commence in the summer, promises to transform the stadium into a state-of-the-art facility, rivaling some of the best in the country.
The refurbishment plan includes the demolition of the existing Town End stand, to be replaced by a new, 5,000-seat structure featuring modern amenities, including executive boxes, hospitality suites, and improved accessibility for disabled supporters.
Additional upgrades include the installation of a new playing surface, upgraded concourses, and enhanced facilities for players, staff, and supporters. The stadium’s capacity will increase to over 20,000, providing a more electric atmosphere for matchdays.
The club’s ownership group has secured funding for the project through a combination of private investment and external financing. “This investment will take our stadium to the next level, providing an exceptional experience for our fans and a competitive edge for our team,” said Swindon Town FC’s chairman.
