Martial scored in the first leg’s 3-1 triumph, advancing on aggregate 3-2 after Thursday night’s second leg.

When the league returns next month, Sevilla will face West Ham over two legs for a place in the final eight.

If all goes well, he should be able to add to his outstanding record versus the Hammers.

Martial’s West Ham United record

According to Transfermarkt, Martial faced West Ham 13 times during his stint at United and only lost three times.

In seven games, he also contributed 11 goals, scoring six and setting up another five for teammates.

Martial has twice scored braces against the east London club, in a 3-2 loss in May 2016 and a 4-1 EFL Cup victory at Old Trafford in November of the same year.

His final game for United before leaving on loan was likewise against the Hammers.

He came on as a late substitute last month and had an impact, contributing to Marcus Rashford’s late, late strike that sealed a 1-0 victory.

Martial is battling for fitness.

Martial was substituted in the first half of Sevilla’s most recent La Liga match against Espanyol, and the club has not disclosed any specifics about the injury.

It was enough to keep him out of the starting lineup for the second leg against Zagreb.

He is also in a race against time to be ready for the important derby against Real Betis on Sunday, which has taken on added significance because it pits second against third in Spain.

The Frenchman will be hoping to be fully fit by the time the Europa League resumes, as a lengthy period of injury during his loan term would be frustrating for everyone’s side.

When is the Sevilla vs. West Ham match?
The first leg of the match will take place in Spain on Thursday, March 10, with the return game taking place in London a week later.

The game will be Martial’s first trip to England since his January departure, and he may consider it as an opportunity to remind United of his talent.
