The Dane has been ruled out until at least late April after suffering an ankle injury in the FA Cup triumph against Reading. Andy Carroll’s scissor tackle left a mark on the former Tottenham player, and he will be out for some time.

Eriksen has started all but two of United’s Premier League games this season, and he has played a key role in the club’s ascent up the standings and successful cup runs.

A loan deal for Sabitzer from Bayern Munich is presently being sought, and there is high hope that it will be completed before the window closes. What can viewers expect from the Austrian?

Marcel Sabitzer’s professional journey

The 28-year-old midfielder began his career in numerous youth teams before joining Admira Wacker’s senior squad. Following a move to Rapid Vienna, he became a key member of Red Bull’s Rasenballsport Leipzig project 18 months later.

He joined the club in 2014 and soon became one of the most significant members of the squad after a loan to RB Salzburg, and he appeared to be set for a move to a bigger club in the near future alongside Timo Werner and Naby Keita.

In 2015, he returned from a loan spell in Austria and spent the next six years with Leipzig, demonstrating his flexibility and technical ability. He then joined Bayern Munich in 2021 for only €15 million, despite being plainly worth considerably more.

This stunning strike against Zenit St. Petersburg in the Champions League was one of his greatest achievements during his tenure with Leipzig.

Goals and assists by Marcel Sabitzer

Sabitzer has a strong goal and assists record practically everywhere he has played, with Bayern Munich being the only notable exception. The relocation south to Bavaria was not a success because, while he gave extremely important depth, he was unable to achieve the same kinds of figures.

The Leipzig figures are the strongest indicator of what he can provide to United since if he truly is a direct Eriksen replacement, he could start with Casemiro right away. The fact that his goals and assists are nearly identical demonstrates that he is a true dual threat.

Marcel Sabitzer’s playing style Central midfield has been Sabitzer’s primary position for the bulk of his career, but he also has the capacity to play out on the right wing and in a more attacking role down the middle.

He is quick on his feet and plays in a nomadic manner, similar to Eriksen. He is technically extremely good, as evidenced by the goal above and this stunning effort against Hertha Berlin.

If the deal goes through, it’s not hard to envision United feeling like they’ve gotten back on their feet after Eriksen’s injury, as long as Sabitzer’s confidence hasn’t suffered a hit at Bayern.

He moves a little higher up the pitch than Eriksen, but he has a greater pace, so he can track back more successfully. He won’t back down from a tackle and can take the ball under pressure in a crowded midfield.
