Plymouth, England – Wrexham AFC secured a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Plymouth Argyle at Home Park, thanks to goals from Ollie Rathbone and Jay Rodriguez.

The Red Dragons, who have been in impressive form of late, dominated the match from start to finish, creating numerous scoring opportunities throughout.

Rathbone opened the scoring in the 25th minute, slotting home a neat finish after being played through by a clever pass from midfielder, Jordan Davies.

The visitors continued to press for a second goal, and it finally arrived in the 65th minute, courtesy of a clinical finish from Rodriguez. The striker, who has been in fine form this season, latched onto a through ball and slotted past the Plymouth goalkeeper with ease.

The win marks Wrexham’s third consecutive victory in the league, and moves them up to third place in the standings.

“We’re absolutely delighted with the result,” said Wrexham manager, Phil Parkinson. “The lads worked tirelessly throughout the match, and deservedly took the three points. We’re on a good run of form at the moment, and we’re hoping to continue that in our next match.”

Plymouth Argyle, who have struggled for consistency this season, were left to rue a number of missed opportunities, including a penalty miss in the first half.

“We’re disappointed with the result, but we can’t fault the effort of the lads,” said Plymouth manager, Steven Schumacher. “We created some good chances, but unfortunately, we couldn’t take them. We’ll regroup and go again in our next match.”

The win for Wrexham marks a significant milestone for the club, who are pushing for promotion to the English Football League Championship.

As the Red Dragons continue their push for promotion, they will be looking to build on this impressive victory and maintain their momentum in the league. With their sights firmly set on the top flight, Wrexham will be hoping to make a statement in their next match.
