SAN ANTONIO Spurs coach Gregg Popovich is still recuperating from what the organization described as a “mild stroke” that occurred on November 25.
The organization had previously described Popovich’s absence from the previous seven games—including Wednesday night’s victory against the Washington Wizards—as an unreported medical incident. Earlier on Wednesday, the Spurs announced Popovich’s diagnosis and status, stating that the coach had a stroke in the team’s arena. Popovich has begun a rehabilitation program and is anticipated to fully recover.
According to the Spurs. Popovich’s comeback is not scheduled, although general manager Brian Wright stated that he is “doing well.”
