Las Vegas Raiders have set their initial 53-man roster, the team will turn its attention to free agency and the waiver wire to acquire more talent to help Las Vegas shore up any positions that are in need of more bodies.
Though player acquisitions will steal the spotlight over the next few days, the Raiders will also spend some time filling their practice squad with 16 players they want to keep on the team as insurance policies and/or developmental pieces.
Las Vegas can begin signing free agents to the practice squad, but they’ll have to hold tight until Wednesday afternoon for players on the waiver wire who they are interested in adding to the 16-man group.
Veterans who were cut by other teams and have four or more accrued seasons are eligible to sign elsewhere immediately after their release, while players with three or fewer accrued seasons will have to go through the waiver process before entering the free-agent market.
