Raiders Announce Departures of Three Key Players, Including Maxx Crosby

The Las Vegas Raiders have confirmed the departure of three significant players, including star defensive end Maxx Crosby, marking a pivotal shift in the team’s roster as they prepare for the 2024 season. The announcement comes as part of a broader effort by the team to reshape its lineup under head coach Josh McDaniels.

Crosby, who had been the face of the Raiders’ defensive unit since his arrival in 2019, was a key figure in the team’s defensive line, known for his relentless pass-rushing and leadership on and off the field. Despite his impressive statistics and consistent performance, reports indicate that the Raiders and Crosby were unable to come to terms on a new contract extension, leading to his departure. Crosby is expected to explore free agency, with several teams rumored to be interested in his services.

In addition to Crosby, the Raiders also confirmed the exits of cornerback Trayvon Mullen and linebacker Denzel Perryman. Mullen, a former second-round pick, struggled with injuries and inconsistency, while Perryman, known for his hard-hitting play, became a key leader in the middle of the defense. Both players were crucial parts of the Raiders’ defense over the past few seasons but have now become expendable as the team looks to retool for the future.

The departures signal a new direction for the Raiders as they continue to focus on building a more dynamic, younger roster. The front office is expected to target replacements through the draft and free agency in the coming weeks.
