Michael Strahan has issued a response after being caught in a media storm when he was accused of disrespecting the national anthem on Fox NFL
NFL pundit Michael Strahan highlighted his gratefulness and admiration for veterans and those in active service after being accused of disrespecting the national anthem.
The Fox NFL Sunday pundit came under fire for not placing his hand over his heart like his peers while at the San Diego Naval Base ahead of Veterans Day. While surrounded by those in the armed forces, Strahan appeared to be the only one who did not place his hand over his chest.
The incident resulted in many at home feeling like he had disrespected the national anthem and thus those in the armed forces as well. He has since issued a response to those detractors
Addressing his critics directly with a post on social media, the Super Bowl winner posted a picture of his father, a military veteran, on his Instagram story
He said: “Thank you to all veterans and active service members who courageously risk their lives to protect us every day. Your selfless service is beyond measure.
