Phil Collins‘ son Matthew has burst into the spotlight after signing a contract with Austrian club WSG Tirol.
The 18-year-old is a midfielder who played for Hannover’s U19s last season and has now landed a spot in one of Austria’s top teams.
Matthew is the youngest of Phil’s five children, who are also at their professional peak, with careers in Hollywood and the music industry.
Phil adopted eldest child Joely in 1975 the year he married her mother Andrea Bertorelli.
She was raised in Canada were she went on to pursue her career as an actress and a producer.
Joely is best known for her work on Canadian TV shows Madison and Cold Squad as well as producing the 2012 feature film Becoming Redwood.
She founded her own production company, StoryLab Productions, in 2009.
In 2008 she tied the knot with Dutch fiancé Stefan Buitelaarhe in Leiden and the couple welcomed their first child, daughter, Zoë Amelie the following year.
Recalling when he first set eyes on Zoe, his first grandchild, Phil said: ‘Life has gone to a new level for me.
‘I’m absolutely thrilled and I’m so happy for Joely and Stefan. They are truly happy.’
Speaking about motherhood, she told Urban Moms: ‘I love being a mum! I think it is the most rewarding job you can have.’
