One of the best rushing teams in the Baltimore Ravens just got better with the addition of former Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry on a two-year, $16 million deal.
Long thought to be a serious target for the Ravens over the last 12 months, on the second day of NFL free agency, Baltimore secured a top running back as it looks to make moves that will boost its bid for a Super Bowl.
Henry last season, despite all the thoughts that he is on the back end of his career, still rushed for 1,167 yards and 12 touchdowns despite playing a game more than he did in 2022 and had 69 fewer rush attempts in 2023.
Now a Raven, CBS Sports has given the franchise an A grade for luring the two-time NFL rushing champ to Baltimore.
“This has been a marriage long in the making dating to the trade deadline and it has finally come to fruition,” CBS Sports writes. “Henry has agreed to a two-year, $16 million deal with the Baltimore Ravens, forming one of the more lethal backfields in the NFL. The combination of Henry and Lamar Jackson gives Baltimore arguably the best rushing attack in the league. Henry’s ability to churn out hard yardage could prove to be vital come playoff time.”
