A brave mum’s dying wish has come true with a visit from her favourite band UB40 to her hospice bedside.
Singers Ali Campbell and Astro visited Nicola Moore after a social media campaign featuring her campaign to meet her idols went viral.
The 32 year-old, who has two young children aged 12 and 19 months, was diagnosed with terminal cervical cancer just five weeks ago.
Nicola posted a picture on Facebook on Wednesday holding up a sign saying she would love to meet the Birmingham musicians before she died and asking people to share her plea.
Less than 24 hours later 2.5 million people had seen the post from the Dudley mum, including Dawn Wilson, the wife of Astro, who contacted Compton Hospice in Wolverhampton to organise a surprise visit.
“I feel like I’ve come alive again, I feel stronger,” said Nicola, who was glowing with joy after the visit.
“I’ve always loved Ali, his voice is amazing and UB40 have been my favourite band since I was a kid.”
Nicola sang her favourite song, Rat in the Kitchen, to Ali and Astro, who told her that she had a ‘fantastic voice’.
The singers also revealed they had received thousands of messages from their fans about the appeal.
Nicola was diagnosed with cervical cancer after experiencing a pain in her leg, and struggling to walk.
Despite undergoing radiotherapy treatment she was told her cancer was terminal five weeks ago.
