Manchester United and Atletico Madrid will meet in the Champions League last 16 later this month.

Portugal international teammates Joao Felix, Bruno Fernandes, and Cristiano Ronaldo will be pitted against each other, with Diogo Dalot also in the mix.

To make the final eight, United must avoid the confidence breakdowns that plagued them against Middlesbrough and Burnley in the second half.

Felix has praised Bruno and Ronaldo in an interview with the Athletic, saying that they will be crucial if United wants to make a deep run into the Champions League this season.

“Playing versus your pals is a lot of fun. “It’s usually a lot of fun, like we’re playing in the garden,” Felix added.

“When the draw was made, we exchanged texts with Bruno.” Bruno is an exceptional player. It’s pretty simple to have fun with him.

“Whenever he has the ball, he always picks the best option to give you the best chance to score.” That is why he receives so many assists.

“Because Cristiano is a role model for the entire national team, he gives us a lot of good advice, and we want to listen.”

Felix was linked with United before his £113 million (BBC) move to Atletico Madrid in July 2019, and his future remains uncertain.

He has wanted to quit the club, according to Spanish publication AS, and he has the same agent as Ronaldo and Bruno — Jorge Mendes.

The match does provide Felix with an opportunity to put himself in the spotlight, especially if he can surpass Ronaldo and help Atletico reach the quarter-finals.

Ronaldo, on the other hand, has scored in every Champions League game this season and has single-handedly propelled United into the knockout stages.

He’ll be trying to repeat his heroics, especially considering that the competition is United’s last chance to win a trophy this season.
